In a major anti antisemitic attack, several ambulances belonging to a Jewish volunteer rescue group were set on fire outside a synagogue in a north London neighbourhood early on Monday. Police are treating it as an anti-semitic attack.

Flames lit up the night sky in Golders Green, an area home to the city’s largest Jewish community. Residents were woken by loud blasts as dozens of firefighters were sent to tackle the blaze.

CCTV shows masked suspects

Security footage shared with CNN showed three masked individuals approaching an ambulance linked to Hatzola Northwest and setting it alight.

The video was time-stamped 1:36 a.m. on Monday and marked the location as Machzikei Hadath, matching the name of the nearby synagogue. Police said they are searching for three suspects but confirmed that no arrests have been made so far.

Community shaken by attack

Local resident Charlie Richards told CNN she heard “multiple explosions since 2 a.m." Footage she recorded showed a large orange blast and thick smoke rising into the sky.

Hatzola Northwest chairman Shloimie Richman said four of the organisation’s six ambulances were destroyed. He described the incident as a deliberate act of arson.

“Obviously we have concerns that this is a direct attack on the Jewish community," he said.
