For the second time in as many days, US President Donald Trump claimed that he had brokered peace between India and Pakistan following last year’s conflict, which erupted after India carried out Operation Sindoor to neutralise terrorist bases sheltered by the Pakistani Army in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and deep inside Pakistan.

Trump repeated the claim on Wednesday while addressing world leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, saying he had “stopped eight wars, including India and Pakistan".

He had made the same assertion a day earlier at a White House press briefing on Tuesday, held to mark one year of his second term in office.
