The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) on Tuesday claimed that it killed at least 280 Pakistani personnel during Operation Herof Phase II. The group further said Pakistani forces are “under heavy pressure" and reportedly retreating. It also claimed to have seized key positions in Nushki, a district in Balochistan.
According to a statement from the separatist militant group, the figures include members of the Army, Frontier Corps (FC), police, Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and army-backed death squads.
“These figures are not final, and given the evolving ground realities, further increases in the enemy’s human and material losses are expected. Complete and verified details of the enemy’s losses will be released to the media at an appropriate time after consolidation," the statement added.
The BLA further stated that during Operation Herof Phase II, 35 of its fighters were killed, including 18 suicide attackers from the Majeed Brigade, 10 members of the Fateh Squad, and seven from the STOS unit. “Detailed and final information regarding the martyrs will be formally released later," it said.

On Saturday, the BLA had said that under the second phase of Operation Herof, it carried out coordinated attacks at 48 locations across 14 cities in Balochistan, maintaining strong control for about ten hours. “Herof" is a Balochi term meaning “black storm," first used by the BLA in August 2024.
The BLA said Pakistani forces, “under heavy pressure", are reportedly retreating. It also claimed that in an attempt to conceal military setbacks, Pakistan has begun targeting civilians in Balochistan using drones and helicopters, resulting in multiple civilian casualties.
“These actions are a clear reflection of the enemy’s moral, military, and political bankruptcy," the BLA said.
Violence in Balochistan has surged in recent years, with fatalities rising from 787 to 956 in 2025, a nearly 22 per cent increase, according to the Centre for Research and Security Studies (CRSS).
Nationwide, terror attacks rose by 34 per cent last year, with 699 incidents reported, Islamabad-based think tank Pak Institute for Peace Studies said.
