US-Iran-Israel War: Iran has accused the United States of violating three key provisions of a proposed 10-point negotiation framework even before talks could begin, deepening tensions around a fragile ceasefire and raising doubts over future diplomacy.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a statement on X and said that three core clauses of the plan had already been breached, including commitments related to a ceasefire in Lebanon, respect for Iranian airspace, and Tehran’s right to uranium enrichment.
“The deep distrust we hold toward the United States stems from its repeated violations of all forms of commitments — a pattern that has been repeated once again," Ghalibaf said in a statement.
In his statement, the Iranian speaker referred to Israel’s non-compliance with a broader ceasefire covering Lebanon, the intrusion of a drone into Iranian airspace that was later downed in Fars province, and what it called denial of its right to enrichment under the framework.
In the statement, Ghalibaf claimed that that the violations undermine the proposal itself, which had earlier been described by US President Donald Trump as a “workable basis on which to negotiate." “The very basis for talks has been clearly violated even before negotiations began," the statement said, adding that under such conditions, “a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations is unreasonable."
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi struck a similarly firm tone, saying the terms of the ceasefire were “clear and explicit" and warning Washington against pursuing a dual-track approach.
“The US must choose—ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both," Araghchi said, adding that “the world is watching whether it will act on its commitments."
The Iran–U.S. Ceasefire terms are clear and explicit: the U.S. must choose—ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both. The world sees the massacres in Lebanon. The ball is in the U.S. court, and the world is watching whether it will act on its commitments. pic.twitter.com/2bzVlHFKgi

Iran also halted traffic through the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday, signalling it could withdraw from the ceasefire if Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue.
Iran’s response came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the ceasefire with Iran does not apply to Hezbollah and confirmed that Israeli military operations in Lebanon would continue.
Soon after the truce was announced, Israel carried out one of its largest strikes against Hezbollah, with the military saying around 50 fighter jets hit nearly 100 targets across Beirut, the Beqaa Valley, and southern Lebanon within minutes.
Israel has maintained that the ceasefire’s terms do not extend to Lebanon due to Hezbollah’s involvement, a position later echoed by the White House. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Lebanon is not part of the two-week agreement between Washington and Tehran.
Hezbollah, in response, condemned what it called Israel’s “barbaric aggression" and warned it would launch attacks if Israeli forces failed to halt operations and withdraw from southern Lebanon.
