It’s not the most shocking news, but Democratic politicians seemed quite OK with President Donald Trump’s decision to fire Kristi Noem from her post as Homeland Security Secretary on Thursday.

Trump tabbed Oklahoma Sen. Markwayne Mullin to replace Noem at DHS, while Noem will now become Special Envoy for The Shield of the Americas, a new organization designed to promote a right-wing alliance in South America.

Noem’s ouster follows harsh bipartisan criticism of her leadership amid Trump’s immigration crackdown and questions over her spending of millions of taxpayer dollars on self-promotional videos.

However, while the critiques of Noem were bipartisan, Democratic politicians seemed especially happy at Trump’s announcement of her firing, turning the news into a real Democratic party on social media.

Hakeem Jeffries, leader of the House Democrats, said that Attorney General “Pam Bondi is next,” and added, “Keep the pressure on these extremists.”

Kristi Noem is gone. Pam Bondi is next.

Keep the pressure on these extremists.

Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.) posted an old clip from Trump’s reality show “The Apprentice” in honor of Noem’s termination. He also admitted he prepared it in advance, perhaps assuming her exit was inevitable.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz didn’t mince words, saying Noem “has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone.”

Kristi Noem has done a stunning amount of damage and it’s good she’s gone.

But this doesn’t change the fact that we need a complete overhaul of DHS, impartial investigations into the killings of two American citizens, and information on children that were taken from Minnesota.

Other Democratic politicians chimed in as well, with Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar noting that Noem’s departure was hastened by her responses in recent hearings.

Breaking: Kristi Noem is out.

Minnesotans stood up for Alex and Renee and so many others.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker was a little snarkier with his response.

Former Never-Trumper Republican George Conway, who is now running as a Democrat for the New York congressional seat currently held by Jerry Nadler, referenced one of Noem’s most infamous moments ― when she bragged about shooting her dog ― in his post.

Democratic congressional candidate Colin Allred decided the best plan of action was to reference the 1995 movie “Friday” for his post.

California Rep. Ted Lieu thanked the American people who used their First Amendment rights to protest and film the abuses committed by her “masked agents.”

Thank you to the American people who exercised their First Amendment rights to protest and film horrific abuses by Kristi Noem’s masked agents.

House and Senate Judiciary Committees held 2 oversight hearings exposing Noem’s corruption and abuse of power.

trump fired her today. https://t.co/wJ6kCuwmHh

Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey was “glad” that Noem was fired, but said the problem won’t be over until ICE is abolished.

Let me be clear: I’m glad Kristi Noem was fired. But we still have to abolish ICE.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said “good riddance” to Noem, but added “the problems at DHS go much deeper than any one person.”

Kristi Noem has been fired. Good riddance.

But the problems at DHS go much deeper than any one person.

Texas congressman Greg Casar called Noem “a disaster,” but noted she “is not the architect of Trump’s dangerous mass deportation policies,” and said the next step is to “fire Stephen Miller.”

This is a big win. Kristi Noem was a disaster, and people speaking up got her fired.

But Kristi Noem is not the architect of Trump's dangerous mass deportation policies, and we can't let up the pressure.

Of course, Democrats weren’t the only ones weighing in on Noem. Anthony Scaramucci, who served as Trump’s press secretary for a whopping 11 days ― a unit of time now jokingly called “a Scaramucci” ― made a point to note how many “Scaramuccis” she lasted as Homeland Security secretary.

Kristi Noem lasts 37.2 Scaramucci’s
