Dhurandhar fever has hit Mumbai Indians hard, especially Suryakumar Yadav in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) after India's T20 World Cup-winning Indian skipper was seen recreating the viral dance steps of Akshaye Khanna’s character Rehman Dakait from the film.

In a recent event, Suryakumar turned the spotlight on himself as he took the stage by recreating the signature moves on song Fa9la, the video of which was shared by the franchise on social media. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the movie itself has become a sensation ever since the film's release.

“Ye Dada ka style hai, full Dhurandhar mode,” Mumbai Indians captioned the video. The video also took the social media by storm. “Whole india is running on Dhurandhar mode,” wrote one user. “Surya Dada in Dhurandhar vibe,” another wrote. “Quotes& replies lo chok fans edupulu. wc winning captain aura,” another user commented.

Earlier, Suryakumar had teased teammate Jasprit Bumrah with a viral jassi dialogue from the movie after Mumbai Indians' opening IPL 2026 win over Kolkata Knight Riders. The incident took place when MI owner Nita Ambani was presenting Bumrah with a badge for his spectacular bowling show against the three-time champions.

Suryakumar lightened the mood by saying, “Ghar ki yaad nahi aayi, Jassi? (Didn’t you miss home, Jassi?)" The Indian T20I captain's remark was greeted with laughter across the entire room with Bumrah and Ambani both smiling at the funny jab by Suryakumar.

Earlier, led by Suryakumar, India defended the T20 World Cup at home, beating New Zealand in the final. This is also the first time any team have defended a T20 World Cup. The Men in Blue also became the first team to win a T20 World Cup on home soil.

What's next for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2026?

After decimating KKR by six wickets, Mumbai Indians will next take on Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 4. While Shardul Thakur starred with the ball by scalping three wickets, openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton entertained the crowd with the bat, scoring 78 and 81 respectively.
