The direct air connectivity between Indian and China has finally resumed with Air China restarting its Beijing-Delhi service.
Global Times quoted the Air China app stating that the service will run three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, using an Airbus A330 aircraft. Economy class fares will start from 3,570 yuan ($523), with the flight departing at 3:15 pm and arriving in Delhi at 8:20 pm local time.
China Eastern Airlines also resumed its direct flights between Kunming, Southwest China’s Yunnan Province and Kolkata, on April 18.
In a statement, it said that they will make six weekly round trips using Boeing 737 aircraft.
These developments comes days after IndiGo began its daily, nonstop service between Kolkata and Shanghai.
The flights between India and China was stopped since the 2020 Galwan clash and Covid pandemic.
The latest announcement came following the Ministry of External Affair’ confirmation of the resumption of direct flights between India and China.

Documents Required For A China Visa For Indians
- Applicants must submit the following to the nearest Chinese embassy or consulate:
- Passport valid for at least six months with two blank pages
- Completed China visa application form
- Two recent passport-sized photos
- Cover letter with travel plans, name, and address
- Detailed itinerary of the trip
- Round-trip flight tickets
- Hotel bookings
- Bank statements showing a minimum balance of INR 1,00,000
- Income Tax Returns
- Pay slips, if salaried
- Leave letter from employer
- Sponsor or invitation letter, if applicable
The official Chinese visa website also allows applicants to complete the online visa form, choosing visa validity, duration of stay, and number of entries—single, double, or multiple entries.
