One user wrote, “Any airport with Trump’s name on it should be closed," while another commented, “Is it safe to have Trump’s name on an airport? I don’t think so."

Some users raised concerns about potential public costs.

“So now I’m sure taxpayer dollars will somehow be used to rename and rebrand an airport. Think of the amount of money needed just for new letterheads- all for one man’s ego," a post read.

Others questioned the public mandate behind such a move.

“More things absolutely no one voted for, but people will just let him do it because… reasons," a user said.

Criticism also focused on motives as a user wrote, “The question is, why should we waste taxpayer money on this petty move? Why does he need his name on everything?"
