Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi on Sunday urged protesters across the country not to abandon the streets and continue their demonstrations against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the ruling establishment.
In a fresh video message, while indicating support from the United States, Pahlavi said President Donald Trump, “as the leader of the free world, has closely observed your indescribable bravery and has declared that he is ready to help you". He told Iranians that they must persevere as they are not alone with the world “proudly shouting your voice".
“Know that you are not alone. Your compatriots around the world are proudly shouting your voice, and you will surely see images of their numerous and widespread presence on television screens. The world today stands with your national revolution and admires your courage. In particular, President Trump, as the leader of the free world, has closely observed your indescribable bravery and has declared that he is ready to help you," Pahlavi said in a video message on X.

He called for protesters to assemble in the main streets of their cities with friends and family at 6 pm but also urged them to exercise caution.
“While reiterating my second call for 6:00 PM today, Sunday (21 Dey), I ask all of you to go to the main streets of the cities in groups with your friends and family members; along the way, do not separate from one another or from the crowds of people; and do not take side streets that could endanger your lives," he said.
The former crown prince said he has received “reliable" reports of “widespread and courageous presence in the streets across Iran for the third consecutive night". He said the demonstrators have “severely weakened Khamenei’s repressive apparatus and his regime".
“…Reliable reports have reached me indicating that the Islamic Republic is facing a severe shortage of mercenaries to confront the millions of people in the streets, and so far many armed and security forces have left their workplaces or disobeyed orders to suppress the people," he said.
He warned of “consequences" for the actions by a “minority of violent mercenaries" supporting Khamenei. He said they “like their criminal leader, are non-Iranian and anti-Iranian, and consider you – the great nation of Iran – their enemy".
“Know that they will face consequences for their actions," he added.
Pahlavi further said he will soon be by the side of his fellow citizens, a day after he declared he was “preparing to return" to Iran.
“Do not abandon the streets. My heart is with you. I know that I will soon be by your side," he said.
This message comes a day after he called on Iranians working in economic sectors to strike work and to move to occupy the centre of Tehran. He has voiced support for protesters across the country, praising their continued demonstrations against Khamenei.
The Institute for the Study of War, a policy research organisation, on Saturday (January 10) said it recorded 116 protests across 22 provinces since 3.30 pm (local time) on January 8. As per the report, Iran witnessed 20 massive protests – ones that have a turnout of over 1,000 people.
World leaders have condemned the killing and arrest of protesters. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Australia, Canada and the European Union lauded the bravery displayed by Iranians and condemned the reported crackdown by the regime.
