US President Donald Trump claimed on Tuesday (June 17) that the United States now has “complete and total control of the skies over Iran,” boasting about the superiority of American military technology in a post on Truth Social.

“Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff,’” Trump wrote. “Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”

The statement, which comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, did not cite any specific military operation or provide evidence to support the claim. It is unclear whether Trump was referring to current US surveillance or air dominance capabilities in the region, or making a more rhetorical statement aimed at Iran’s defense systems.

Strategic ambiguity or escalation?

Trump’s remarks follow recent reports of increased drone activity and airspace violations involving Iran and its proxies. However, the Pentagon has not confirmed any direct US operations suggesting aerial dominance over Iranian territory.
