All About Burj Al Arab Hotel

Burj Al Arab, considered the world’s only 10-star hotel, this architectural marvel offers an experience like no other.

Opened in 1999 on an artificial island off the coast of Dubai, the Burj Al Arab is a symbol of unparalleled luxury and sophistication. With a staggering construction cost of over $1 billion, the hotel has been designed to offer an experience that redefines the concept of indulgence.

The cost of a single night at the Burj Al Arab can reach upwards of Rs 10 lakh during peak seasons, a sum that only a few can afford. Guests arriving at this extraordinary destination are treated like royalty, with helicopter transfers and Rolls-Royce limousines transporting them to their temporary home in the sky. The hotel’s unique structure, designed to resemble the sail of a dhow, stands as a testament to Dubai’s penchant for creating awe-inspiring attractions.

Dubai Airport Damaged

Dubai international airport also sustained damage in an overnight Iranian attack across Gulf states, aviation sources cited by Reuters said. Four people were injured at the airport, the emirate’s media office said early on Sunday.

Dubai’s media office said on X that “a concourse at Dubai International (DXB) sustained minor damage in an incident, which was quickly contained," without giving further details.

Missile Hits Burj Khalifa

Earlier on Saturday, a video circulating on social media claimed to show an Iranian drone striking close to the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world as hostilities in the region intensified.

The footage, alleged that “another Iranian drone" struck near the world’s tallest building in the UAE. The short clip appeared to show an object in the sky followed by a flash near the skyline, though the authenticity and exact location of the video was been independently verified.

The building was already evacuated as Iran fired ballistic missiles at the United Arab Emirates in retaliation for the American and Israeli strikes on Iranian soil earlier in the day.

West Asia Tensions

Multiple loud explosions rocked both Abu Dhabi and Dubai as Iranian forces targeted Al-Dhafra Air Base, which houses US military personnel.

Iran fired missiles toward Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha, major east-west aviation hubs. Airlines suspended flights across the region, including services to and from Dubai and Abu Dhabi, while flight-tracking data showed much of Middle Eastern airspace largely empty, Reuters reported.

The UAE’s Ministry of Defence confirmed that Iranian ballistic missiles had targeted the country and that air defence systems intercepted several of them. Debris from those interceptions came down on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, killing one person, identified as an Asian national, and causing property damage, the ministry said, citing information from the state-run WAM news agency.

The UAE described the attack as “a dangerous escalation and a cowardly act," calling it “a flagrant violation of national sovereignty and international law." The ministry added that the country “reserves its full right to respond."
