The Embassy of India in Dublin issued a public advisory urging Indian citizens in Ireland to exercise increased caution amid a surge in physical assaults targeting members of the Indian community.

“There has been an increase in the instances of physical attacks reported against Indian citizens in Ireland recently," the advisory said, adding, “The Embassy is in touch with the authorities concerned of Ireland in this regard. At the same time, all Indian citizens in Ireland are advised to take reasonable precautions for their personal security and avoid deserted areas, especially in odd hours."

The advisory follows a disturbing incident involving Santosh Yadav, an Indian-origin entrepreneur and senior data scientist based in Letterkenny, who was brutally assaulted by a group of teenagers in Dublin last week.

In a detailed LinkedIn post, Santosh Yadav recounted that he was attacked without provocation near his apartment by six teenagers. He wrote, “They snatched my glasses, breaking them and then beat me relentlessly across my head, face, neck, chest, hands and legs- leaving me bleeding on the pavement."

Santosh Yadav said he was rushed to Blanchardstown Hospital where doctors confirmed a fractured cheekbone and referred him for specialist care. Calling the attack part of a growing pattern, Santosh Yadav alleged that racially motivated violence was surging across Dublin. He said, “This is not an isolated incident. Racist attacks on Indian men and other minorities are surging across Dublin- on buses, in housing estates and on public streets. Yet, the government is silent. There is no action being taken against these perpetrators."

Earlier, another Indian man was assaulted by a mob in Dublin following false allegations of inappropriate behaviour with children. The Indian Embassy’s advisory included emergency contact information for citizens in distress and emphasized coordination with Irish authorities to address the safety concerns of Indian nationals.
