New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani’s wife, Rama Duwaji, is facing a massive backlash after an old social media post linked to her resurfaced on the internet.

The posts, allegedly shared between 2013 and 2017 on Tumblr and X, have caught the attention of many for containing ‘racist’ language.

According to reports by the Washington Free Beacon, Duwaji, during her late teenage years, had allegedly shared posts that included the N-word. “Helllll yeah, ni***. Super duper genius, excuse you."

Meanwhile, other posts in the report include content praising figures linked to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a group designated as a terrorist organisation by the United States.

In other posts linked to her, she allegedly reposed, “F**k Tel Aviv. Shouldn’t exist in the first place. They are occupiers."

She allegedly also reposted, “Show them the children locked in cages overnight, burnt alive, and starved to death in Palestine, Tel Aviv." And, “As you give Israelis an outlet to celebrate their atrocities, you’re supporting a genocidal state." Bye."

In one post linked to her, Duwaji also pointed to the US and Israeli militaries. The account carrying her name described US soldiers as not brave and accused them of “slaughtering 3rd world civilians".

US soldiers are “not brave, nor are they fighting for anyone’s freedom," the post said, reported the outlet.

Among other content shared by her account, one post included a picture of Leila Khaled, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, with a caption that read, “If it does good for my cause, I’ll be happy to accept death." Another post reportedly referenced Shadia Abu Ghazaleh, also linked to the group.

In a 2015 post, she also blamed white people for the creation of al-Qaeda, the report said, adding that accounts linked to her appeared inactive or had since been deactivated.

The issue has led to backlash on social media platforms, with many questioning the content of the posts and supporters urging caution.

However, Mayor Mamdani has responded to criticism over his wife’s social media posts, saying she does not hold any post in his administration and is a private individual.
