His remarks came after the news outlet reported the US President made a last-minute move to bring Jensen Huang into his China delegation.

Trump said CNBC had “incorrectly reported” that Huang had not been invited to join the trip.
US President Donald Trump on Wednesday (local time) dismissed reports that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was not part of his delegation to China, calling the media coverage “FAKE NEWS" and asserting that the MNC chief was already aboard Air Force One ahead of high-level talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
In a post on Truth Social, the US President targeted CNBC over its report that Trump had made a last-minute move to bring Huang into the China delegation, highlighting the growing importance of AI chips and export controls in Washington’s negotiations with Beijing.
He said that CNBC had “incorrectly reported" that Huang had not been invited to join the trip. “In actuality, Jensen is currently on Air Force One and, unless I ask him to leave, which is highly unlikely, CNBC’s reporting is incorrect or, as they say in politics, FAKE NEWS!" he said.
Trump added that it was an “honor" to have several top American business leaders travelling with him to China, including Tesla chief Elon Musk, BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, Blackstone chief Stephen Schwarzman, Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg, Citi CEO Jane Fraser, Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon and Qualcomm chief Cristiano Amon among others.
His remarks came after the news outlet reported the US President made a last-minute move to bring Jensen Huang into his China delegation. According to the report, Huang was not initially expected to join Trump’s visit to China, prompting media scrutiny over the absence of the chief executive of Nvidia – the world’s most influential AI chipmaker – from a delegation packed with top American business leaders.
CNBC, citing a source familiar with the matter, reported that Trump later personally called Huang and invited him to join the visit. Huang then reportedly travelled to Alaska to board Air Force One en route to China.
Trump’s Visit To China
Trump departed for China on Tuesday (local time) ahead of talks with Xi Jinping scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Beijing. The visit marks the first trip by a sitting US president to China since Trump’s previous visit in 2017.
The two leaders are expected to discuss trade tensions, tariffs, export controls. According to Reuters, the two sides are also expected to discuss extending a fragile arrangement that has allowed rare earth exports from China to continue flowing into the United States despite broader geopolitical tensions.
The ongoing Iran conflict is also expected to figure prominently, with reports suggesting Trump wants Beijing to use its influence with Tehran to push for diplomatic engagement with Washington.
