FBI Director Kash Patel has declassified what he claims is a report detailing alleged Chinese interference in the 2020 US presidential election.
While President Donald Trump lost the 2020 election to Joe Biden, he and his allies have continued to falsely assert that the election was “stolen" and that he was the rightful winner. Their attempts to overturn the results culminated in the violent January 6, 2021, attack on Capitol Hill, which ultimately failed.
In a post on X, Patel stated that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has “located documents which detail alarming allegations related to the 2020 US election, including allegations of interference by the CCP [Chinese Communist Party]." He further mentioned that he has declassified these documents and handed them over to Senator Chuck Grassley, the Republican Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.

In an interview with the conservative website Just The News, Patel claimed that the alleged Chinese interference in the 2020 US election involved smuggling thousands of fake driver’s licenses into the country, which were then used to obtain fraudulent mail-in ballots to cast votes in favour of Joe Biden.
The outlet also reported that Patel’s move to declassify the documents followed concerns raised by Senator Chuck Grassley, who alleged that the FBI possessed election-related intelligence from 2020 that had not been thoroughly examined.
What’s in the Alleged Chinese Interference Report?
Patel told Just The News that the allegations outlined in the report were “substantiated," but the related materials were later recalled and never made public.
“Specifically, these include allegations of plans from the CCP to manufacture fake driver’s licenses and ship them into the United States for the purpose of facilitating fraudulent mail-in ballots – allegations which, while substantiated, were abruptly recalled and never disclosed to the public," Patel told Just The News.
