'Five Boroughs...': NYC Mayoral Nominee Zohran Mamdani Launches Citywide Anti-Trump Tour

New York City’s Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani on Monday kicked off his “Five Boroughs Against Trump" tour, launching a week-long campaign to oppose US President Donald Trump’s second-term agenda.

According to a report by Fox News, Mamdani, a 33-year-old self-described socialist and Queens state assemblyman, began the tour in Manhattan alongside Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler.

The tour will visit all five boroughs: Brooklyn on Tuesday, Staten Island on Wednesday, the Bronx on Thursday, and Queens on Friday.

The campaign, Mamdani said, is aimed at countering what he calls Trump’s “authoritarian" policies, particularly those affecting immigration, healthcare, and public services.

“There is no borough that will be free from Trump’s cruelty," Mamdani said. “We will feel the pain of this legislation, whether we are in Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens or Staten Island, and we will shine a light this week and every week on the costs of this vision that is coming out of Washington, D.C."

The “Manhattan Against Trump" event on Monday was held at the 1199 Service Employees International Union (SEIU) headquarters.

Mamdani was joined by Nadler, Councilmembers Carmen De La Rosa and Keith Powers, Assemblymember Harvey Epstein, former Manhattan Borough President Ruth Messinger, and SEIU member Peggy Vujovick.

Mamdani has recently drawn comparisons between Trump and former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who remains in the race as an independent candidate despite losing to Mamdani in the Democratic primary in June. Incumbent Mayor Eric Adams is also running as an independent, and Curtis Sliwa is the Republican nominee.

The Trump administration has dismissed Mamdani’s campaign as radical. “Comrade Mamdani is the American people’s worst nightmare," said White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson.

“His communist policies will crater our economy, increase crime, crowd out Americans with free health care for illegal immigrants, and defund the brave men and women of law enforcement who keep us safe," Jackson added.
