DNA recovered from gloves found a few miles from the Arizona home of Nancy Guthrie has not matched any profiles in a national database, authorities said Tuesday, as the search for the missing 84-year-old entered its 17th day, according to the Associated Press.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said there were no hits in the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), a national database that stores DNA profiles from criminal suspects and convicted offenders. Officials added that multiple samples connected to the investigation have been processed through the system so far.

“There were no DNA hits in CODIS," the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said, referring to the national Combined DNA Index System.

“At this point, there have been no confirmed CODIS matches in this investigation," the department said, suggesting that other DNA samples had been put through the system.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC “Today" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing from her home in the Tucson area on February 1 after spending the previous evening with family. Investigators later detected her blood on the porch of the residence.

Authorities have said a porch camera captured footage of a man carrying a backpack and wearing a ski mask, jacket, long pants and gloves. The FBI described the individual as about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build.

The gloves recovered roughly two miles from the home appear consistent with those worn by the person seen in the video, officials said. Investigators added that additional DNA evidence collected at the residence is still undergoing analysis.

The sheriff’s department also said it is working with a manufacturer and technical experts to try to locate Guthrie by detecting signals from her heart pacemaker. US media have reported that specialised equipment has been mounted on low-flying aircraft as part of the effort.

Savannah Guthrie issued a public appeal over the weekend, urging anyone with information to come forward, saying it is “never too late to do the right thing."

Authorities have not identified a suspect and said the investigation remains active, the Associated Press reported.
