US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he personally asked Ukrainian President Zelenskyy and Russian President Putin for a 3-day ceasefire and they readily agreed and both sides would soon swap 1000 prisoners under the truce deal.

Speaking to media, he said, “I asked, and President Putin and President Zelenskyy both readily agreed. We have a little period of time where they are not going to be killing people. They also agreed to give 1000 prisoners back on each side…"

“Yes, I would like to see a big extension of the ceasefire between the 2 countries," he said, reported ANI.

The US President further said that he would like to see the conflict between the two countries stop. “I would like to see it stop. It’s the worst thing since WW2 in terms of life. 25,000 young soldiers every month," he added.

Trump also said that he has settled nine wars ever since he assumed office, and soon he would settle the tenth war. “I have settled 8 wars and actually 9, and it looks like we could have 10, but I would love to see it end between Russia and Ukraine," he said.
