Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it struck an American F-16 fighter jet in the skies over southern Iran, marking a potentially significant escalation in the ongoing conflict with the United States.

According to an IRGC-linked statement, the aircraft was hit south of Fars province, with Iranian forces asserting that the strike was carried out by its air defence systems.
