Iran on Friday warned that it may label the armed forces of European Union countries as “terrorists" after the bloc added its Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to its list of terrorist organisations.

In a post on X, top Iranian security official Ali Larijani wrote that, under the resolution of Iran’s Islamic Consultative Assembly, the armies of countries supporting the EU’s move against the IRGC would be considered terrorist entities.

“Therefore, the consequences of that shall be borne by the European countries that undertook such an action," he added.

The comments came a day after EU foreign ministers agreed to add the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps to the bloc’s list of terrorist organisations.
