‘Iranians Never Bow’: Abbas Araghchi Slams US, Says Tehran Chose Resistance Over Surrender

Abbas Araghchi has accused the United States of choosing a “reckless military adventure" instead of diplomacy, while declaring that Iran will not surrender despite mounting military pressure.

In strongly worded remarks amid the ongoing regional conflict, Araghchi said Washington had abandoned diplomatic engagement in favour of confrontation.

“The US chose a reckless military adventure over diplomacy," he said, adding that “Iranians never bow."

The Iranian foreign minister also defended Tehran’s missile capabilities, saying Iran still possesses significant military strength despite weeks of war and sustained strikes.

His comments come as tensions remain high following the conflict involving Iran, the US and Israel, which has triggered missile exchanges, naval blockades and fears of a wider regional escalation.

Araghchi insisted Iran would continue to resist pressure and warned against attempts to force Tehran into submission.

The remarks also come at a sensitive moment, with diplomatic backchannel efforts continuing through mediators including Pakistan and Oman to secure a broader ceasefire and framework agreement between Washington and Tehran.

Recent reports have suggested both sides are discussing a possible memorandum involving sanctions relief, nuclear restrictions and reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

Despite ongoing negotiations, Iranian officials have repeatedly stressed that Tehran will not accept what it sees as humiliation or unconditional concessions.

Araghchi’s latest statement signals that while diplomacy remains active behind the scenes, public rhetoric between the two sides remains deeply confrontational.
