The US Department of Justice on Friday released the latest cache of documents concerning the investigation into the sex trafficking network of American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Several high-profile individuals, including Tesla Boss Elon Musk, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and US President Donald Trump, have found themselves at the centre of a controversy after their names were reflected in the ‘Epstein Files’.

However, no wrongdoing has been established so far. Meanwhile, Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, whose past association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has long been known, has come under renewed scrutiny after her name surfaced in the ‘Epstein Files.’

The latest cache of files shed light on flirty email exchanges between the two. In one of the emails, Epstein told the princess about how he was on a ‘wife hunt’. In another, he said that he hoped he didn’t make her sad, to which she responded: “You tickle my brain".

‘Simply Embarrassing’, Says The Princess

Princess Mette-Marit, who is now married to Crown Prince Haakon, issued an apology following the revelation. “I showed poor judgment, and I deeply regret having had any contact with Epstein. It is simply embarrassing," she said in a statement released by the royal palace.

“Jeffrey Epstein is responsible for his actions. I must take responsibility for not checking Epstein’s background better and for not understanding quickly enough what kind of person he was," she said.

What Epstein Wrote To Norway’s Princess

The ‘Epstein Files’ have revealed flirty exchanges between the sex offender and Mette-Marit. “What is the weather like, I am on my wife hunt. Paris is proving interesting but I prefer Scandinavians," Epstein wrote, to which she responded, “Am still trying to get over the shock that you are in fact wife hunting."
