Kai Trump Posts Video That’s So Clueless, Critics Are Comparing Her To Marie Antoinette

Let them eat $21 Hailey Bieber smoothies.

On Sunday, Kai Trump — the 18-year-old granddaughter of President Donald Trump and daughter of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump — announced on X that she had a “New video out now on YouTube!”

And the nearly 19-minute video, titled “I Brought My Secret Service to Erewhon,” got quite the reaction — but likely not the one the aspiring professional golfer was hoping for.

Two-thirds of the video shows Trump shopping at Erewhon, a high-end Los Angeles-area grocery store, where she picks up a mason jar full of dates for $17, Ashwagandha capsules for $23, and a viral Hailey Bieber “Strawberry Glaze Skin” smoothie for $21, as well as a few more wellness and pre-prepared food items.

She pokes fun at all the products in the store with collagen and peptides, and appears shocked by the $165 price tag for Erewhon hoodie — but it doesn’t come off as totally sincere, considering that she hawked her own branded sweatshirt for $130 just last year.

At the end of the shopping portion of the video, the president’s granddaughter jokes that she’s “about to go bankrupt” before checking out. Her grand total for the grocery haul — which consisted of so few items that her basket was barely filled — ended up being $233.

Afterward, the video shows her waiting on the street for a Secret Service motorcade to pick her up and take her to her hotel. Once there, she takes out her items, tries and reviews them.

Trump doesn’t like her pricey dates, saying they taste “expired,” but deems the Bieber smoothie “really, really good!” She then digs into some store-bought sushi, and finds it so “fishy, and like hard” that she runs to the bathroom to spit it out, then throws out almost the entire tray. She also eats a $37 hot plate that consists of short ribs, buffalo cauliflower and rice balls. She loves the cauliflower, but deems the rest of the meal “mid.”

“I low-key feel I can make this at home for under $10,” Trump says after eating the meal, which is funny because a single tray of four short ribs at Kroger currently costs about $13.

Last year, Kai Trump reportedly earned more than $1 million through golf-related endorsements and sponsorship deals, so people wondered why she needed a Secret Service detail at taxpayer expense to do something so ... well, silly.

Critics on X called the teen’s video “tone deaf,” especially since her grandfather’s policies have resulted in “raising prices so people can’t [afford] homes, groceries, and now gas.”

“Girl read the fucking room,” one X user wrote. “People can’t afford to put gas in their tank.”

That's gotta be one of the most tone-deaf videos in existence.

Nothing says “out of touch” like bringing Secret Service to buy $28 smoothies.

But even more prevalent were two very specific responses to the video. One was that people immediately compared Trump to Marie Antoinette.

“it genuinely sometimes feels like they are trying to usher in a french revolution,” podcaster Matt Bernstein tweeted.

It's unironically the same as it was with the french royalty.

They just don't understand the problem. They expect you to be happy for them and if you're not, well what are you gonna do, peasant?

Maybe the french revolution wasn’t so bad

Lack of self-awareness for the win, huh Marie Antoinette?

Others focused on more recent history — or to be more specific, the conflict her grandfather just sparked with Iran and his nonchalant attitude about its possible consequences.

They suggested Trump do something her grandfather completely dodged.

“She’s 18. Enlist,” one X user said.

wow babe you should go to the nearest recruiters' office immediately!
