Kellyanne Conway Says She Got A Bonkers Offer After Trump 2016 Win

Kellyanne Conway said she could have parlayed Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential victory into “life-changing money” ― “the kind I’ll probably never see again.”

But she said she doesn’t regret turning it down.

In a podcast chat with former Trump administration spokesperson Katie Miller shared Monday, Conway recalled that her role as Trump’s final campaign manager in his upset win over Democrat Hillary Clinton created massive potential windfall. She recalled receiving a bonkers offer for her polling company.

“I will say this, I was also staring at a goldmine of life-changing money because Trump won, people weren’t expecting it,” Conway said. “I said, ‘We told you so, we were on the TV saying we’re gonna win Michigan, Wisconsin, like roll the tape.’ Anyway, and people were throwing money at me and it was a lot of money, the kind I’ll probably never see again, and I thought about it.”

“What was the biggest paycheck you turned down?” Miller asked.

“Oh boy, eight figures to buy my company at the time, which I don’t think it was worth anything near that.”

“I’m not a lobbyist, they weren’t buying that,” she continued. “They weren’t really buying access to President Trump ’cause I wouldn’t do that. They just were, ‘Wow, it’s a whole new world and new people are in charge and new thinking has taken hold and they know something about the country that everybody else missed.’”

“And that’s OK, you know, I never regretted it a single day because I loved my job in the White House and I loved working for candidate Trump and then President Trump.”

Conway worked as a counselor to Trump in the White House and resigned in August 2020 to focus on her family.

She left a mixed legacy. Conway was credited with becoming the first female to spearhead a winning presidential campaign but was mired in controversy as well. Early in Trump’s first administration, she introduced the concept of “alternative facts” to defend the administration’s mistruths and was accused of violating multiple ethics laws.
