Far-right commentator Laura Loomer publicly took aim at media personality Tucker Carlson after he criticised remarks attributed to US President Donald Trump that were widely perceived as mocking Islam- accusing Tucker Carlson of having a “full blown meltdown" and behaving like a “woke leftist."

Laura Loomer shared a video clip of Tucker Carlson on X (formerly Twitter), captioning it, “Tucker Qatarlson has a full blown meltdown over President Trump ‘mocking Islam.’ He’s acting like a woke leftist. He’s so far gone."

The post, which quickly gained traction on social media, marked the latest chapter in an increasingly bitter public feud between the two commentators.

In the video, Tucker Carlson pushed back sharply against the rhetoric he described as mocking religion.

“No decent person mocks other people’s religions… to mock other people’s faith is to mock the idea of faith itself," he said. He also directed pointed criticism at a social media post made on Easter, which he said included profanity and the phrase “praise be to Allah."

“To send out a tweet with the F word on Easter morning… and then saying ‘praise be to Allah’… you are mocking me and every other Christian," Tucker Carlson said, asserting, “That is evil."

He also addressed the broader principle, “No president should mock Islam. That’s not your job… This is not a theocracy," adding that faith, at its core, represents “the acknowledgement that we are not in charge of the universe."

Laura Loomer framed Tucker Carlson’s defence of religious sentiment- including Islam- as a betrayal and her use of the nickname “Tucker Qatarlson" was deliberate. According to The Daily Beast, she has deployed the label repeatedly in recent weeks as part of a sustained campaign against Tucker Carlson, which has included calling on Donald Trump to distance himself from the commentator and describing him as a “national security threat."
