Donald Trump says Iran must either negotiate a final settlement or face a full scale US military operation, says he prefers a deal but keeps strike option open

US President Donald Trump on Friday said that Iran is now left with two choices: either to negotiate and come to a final settlement or for the US to start a full-scale military operation against Tehran that would “blast the hell out of it" amid the rising tensions in West Asia.

On being asked about the briefing given by CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper, Trump said, “There are options. Do we want to go and just blast the hell out of them and finish them forever? Or do we want to try and make a deal. That’s the options."

“On a human basis, I’d prefer not," Trump said. “But that’s the option: do we want to go in there heavy and just blast them away or do we want to do something?"
