Marjorie Taylor Greene flipped out in an X post on Sunday and accused the White House press secretary of leaving the door open for a military draft.
During an appearance on Fox News this weekend, “Sunday Morning Futures” host Maria Bartiromo told Karoline Leavitt that mothers were “worried” their children could get caught up in a hypothetical draft. Then she asked Leavitt if President Donald Trump has any plans to have troops on the ground or if military operations in Iran will continue as an air campaign.
“President Trump wisely does not remove options off of the table,” Leavitt replied.
Far-right conspiracy monger Stew Peters seized on the sliver of ambiguity in Leavitt’s wording as he posted video of the interview to X while falsely quoting her as saying, “Trump might institute a DRAFT.”
The White House’s Rapid Response account tried to correct Peters in a repost that said, “She didn’t say anything close to this. You just made it up.”
Karoline Leavitt doesn’t rule out a draft.
How about the answer is NO DRAFT AND NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND because we campaigned on NO MORE FOREIGN WARS OR REGIME CHANGE!!!
Liars every single one of them!
Not my son, over my dead body!!!!!

But Greene had already accepted the post at face value, prompting her to fire off this angry message: “Karoline Leavitt doesn’t rule out a draft. How about the answer is NO DRAFT AND NO BOOTS ON THE GROUND because we campaigned on NO MORE FOREIGN WARS OR REGIME CHANGE!!! Liars every single one of them! Not my son, over my dead body!!!!!”
Since the U.S. and Israel launched a war against Iran a week ago, Greene has repeatedly called out Trump for breaking foreign police promises he made on the campaign trail.
While appearing on right-wing pundit Megyn Kelly’s SiriusXM show on Monday, Greene asked, “What is happening to the man that I supported, you supported, the man that denounced what happened in Iraq, the man that said ‘No more foreign wars,’ ‘No more regime change?’”
