Marjorie Taylor Greene Sounds Alarm On 'INSANE' Way Trump May Try To Block Election

Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) is warning that President Donald Trump could attempt to disrupt this year’s midterm elections.

Greene, a one-time MAGA firebrand who has since turned into a vocal critic of the president, responded to a post on X from conservative podcaster Shannon Joy, who said that Trump could try to use a “national emergency” to cancel the midterms:

Greene shared that concern.

“Yeah I could see it,” she wrote, adding: “INSANE.”

Last year, former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) also said he feared Trump was up to something.

“He tried to overthrow an American election four years ago,” Walsh said on MS NOW, then called MSNBC. “I have no doubt that he could try to stop the midterm elections.”

The party in power usually loses seats in the midterms, and so far, polls suggest this year will not be an exception. With the GOP guarding the slimmest of majorities in the House, flipping even a handful of seats could switch control to the Democrats. And that could cause the Trump agenda to come crashing to a halt.

“If we lost the midterms — heaven forbid — if we lost the majority in the House, it would be the end of the Trump presidency in real effect,” House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said last week.

Trump’s moves over the weekend could complicate that even more, with early polls showing his decision to attack Iran is widely unpopular. The incursion is also causing further cracks in the MAGA base, given that Trump campaigned heavily on ending U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts.

Greene was a strong ally of the president during the campaign and often appeared alongside him at events. That ended last year when she joined an effort in Congress to push for the release of files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was once close friends with Trump.

Trump responded by attacking Greene and calling her a “traitor.”

Greene ultimately resigned from Congress and apologized for her role in what she called “toxic politics.” She also said that MAGA “was all a lie,” a position only reinforced by Trump’s attack on Iran.

Greene posted a tweet on Saturday that described the U.S. military action as “an utter betrayal of his base” and, in a separate message, wrote:
