Days after US President Donald Trump took a routine medical check-up at Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre, his physician said he remains in “excellent health" and there were no major health concerns.
Trump, who will turn 80 in June, underwent a routine medical examination in Washington on Tuesday. After returning to the White House, he said the examination went “perfectly" amid increasing public scrutiny over his physical condition.
“President Donald Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function," White House physician and US Navy Captain Sean Barbabella said in a memo released on Friday.
Trump’s Cognitive, Physical Performance
Barbabella said Trump’s demanding daily schedule as President, including multiple high-level meetings, public engagements and regular physical activity, continued to support his overall well-being.
“Cognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State," he added. The evaluation included diagnostic studies, laboratory testing and consultations with 22 speciality providers.

The memo said Trump’s “slight lower leg swelling" had improved from last year, and described his hand bruising as “common", “benign" and “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention."
What Did Trump’s Physician Advise?
As per the report, Trump is 6’3 tall and weighs 238 pounds (108 kg), up from the 224 pounds (101.6 kilograms) recorded during his last annual physical examination in April last year. He has a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute, a blood pressure reading of 105/71 mmHg and an oxygen saturation level of 98% on room air.
While the examination did not identify any major health concerns, it offered preventive counselling, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.
According to the memo, Trump currently takes three medications: Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe for cholesterol management, along with aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
