Meghan Markle said that tech companies were "not incentivised to stop," saying she could speak to the issue "really personally" because it "rings true for me in a very real way."

Meghan Markle is seen.
Meghan Markle declared herself “the most trolled person in the entire world", revealing she has been “bullied and attacked" every day for the past decade while Prince Harry praised Australia’s landmark social media ban as “epic" during their visit to a youth mental health organisation in Melbourne.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex appeared at Swinburne University of Technology as part of a four-day trip to Australia, joining a discussion with young people hosted by Batyr, a charity focused on preventative mental health education that uses peer-to-peer storytelling to reduce stigma and encourage help-seeking.
What Meghan Markle Said On Online Bullying
Meghan Markle shared her own experience of online abuse as she said, “For now, 10 years, every day for 10 years, I have been bullied and attacked. And I was the most trolled person in the entire world. Now, I’m still here."

She warned the young audience that the social media industry is “completely anchored and predicated on cruelty to get clicks and that’s not going to change. So you have to be stronger than that."
She added that tech companies were “not incentivised to stop," saying she could speak to the issue “really personally" because it “rings true for me in a very real way."
Prince Harry Talks About Mental Health
Prince Harry addressed his own struggles, describing how he delayed seeking therapy until he was “literally in the foetal position, lying on the kitchen floor." He also said his mental health “could not stand living in a city" and praised the social benefits of connection and outdoor life. The Duke reserved particular admiration for Australia’s decision in December to become the first country in the world to ban social media for children under 16, blocking access to platforms including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook- legislation that has since inspired similar moves globally.
Prince Harry said, “Australia took the lead. Now we can sit here and debate the pros and cons of a ban- I’m not here to judge that. All I will say is from a responsibility and leadership standpoint… epic. Because so many countries have now followed suit, but it should have never got to a ban."
