Mohammed Siraj on heartbreaking loss in Lord's Test:
Siraj also reflected on the 26 run loss that team India suffered during the Lord's Test where Ravindra Jadeja had built a partnership with the lower order in order to take the team out of a tough situation. While Siraj was giving good support to Jadeja, the pacer got out on a delivry from Shoaib Bashir that he had middled as the balled went back and hit the stumps.
The Indian pacer looked heartbroken as he refused to budge from the ground in horror of how the ball had went on to hit the stumps. During the press conference, Siraj admitted that the Lord's loss stung and he was ‘extremely disappointed’ by the result.
“It obviously hurts when you get out despite middling the ball. The way our (Ravindra Jadeja's and my) partnership was going, I felt I wouldn't get out. I was that confident. But unfortunately, it didn't happen that way, and I was extremely disappointed. Had we won the game from there, it would have been a different result altogether.” Siraj told the reporters.
India are currently trailing in the series 2-1 and the match against England in Machester is a must win for them if they want to continue to compete in the series. The Indian side, however, have been struck with multiple injuries which has seen Nitish Kumar Reddy ruled out whole series while Arshdeep Singh has been ruled out of the 4th Test match. Selectors have roped in Anshul Kamboj to replace Reddy in the Indian squad.
