One person was killed and 23 others injured in Ukraine’s capital city, Kyiv, and the northeastern city of Kharkiv in the overnight Russian strikes, said authorities early on Saturday.
The attack took place a day after negotiators from Kyiv, Moscow, and Washington met for their trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi and agreed to continue talks over the weekend.
The country remained under an air raid alert during the attack as the military authorities in Kyiv warned of incoming drones and ballistic missiles.
“Kyiv is under a massive enemy attack. Do not leave shelters! Currently, one person is known to have died and four to have been wounded," posted Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram, adding that various non-residential buildings had been hit.
He further said that three of those injured had been hospitalised.
