Amid the ongoing war in West Asia, Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has issued a fresh statement, extending condolences to his cabinet members and the officials in the intelligence ministry following the assassination of the minister of intelligence, Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Esmail Khatib, on March 18.

“I hereby extend my congratulations and condolences to you, the respected cabinet, the colleagues in the Ministry of Intelligence, and especially to the family of the late Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Esmail Khatib, the hard-working minister of intelligence and a devoted veteran," Mojtaba Khamenei said, reported AP.

“Undoubtedly, his absence must be compensated through the increased efforts of other officials and staff of this sensitive ministry, so that security is taken away from internal and external enemies and granted to the people," he said.

“I ask Almighty God for your continued well-being and that of your colleagues, and for the elevation of the status of this dear martyr," Khamenei added.
