In a shocking incident, several people were injured after a car ploughed into pedestrians outside a nightclub in Derby city centre in England.
The incident took place at around 9:30 PM on Saturday (local time) in the Friar Gate area of the city when a black Suzuki Swift car rammed into the crowd outside a nightclub.
Several people were injured in the incident and were treated at the scene by ambulance crews before being taken to hospital.
Police said that officers quickly stopped a vehicle believed to be involved shortly after the incident. The driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested and taken into custody.
Authorities said investigations are at an early stage and have appealed for witnesses, particularly anyone who saw the vehicle being driven in the area around the time of the crash, to come forward.
Following the incident, Friar Gate has been closed between Curzon Street/Cheapside and Ford Street, with officials warning the road will remain shut for a considerable time.
