Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Iranian diplomatic handles on X have stepped up an aggressive messaging campaign, releasing a meme-laden video that appears to taunt Donald Trump over his claims that Iran’s navy has been “finished."

The latest post, shared by Iran’s consular account, showcases a rapid-cut montage of missiles launching skyward and swarms of fast-attack boats racing across choppy waters.

In the caption, the consulate referred to the vessels as the “red bees of the Persian Gulf," a metaphor suggesting speed, numbers and the ability to overwhelm larger adversaries.

Taking direct aim at Trump’s remarks, the post mocked his assertion that Iran’s naval power had been crippled.

“Funny how #Trump kept claiming #Iran’s navy was ‘finished’… now they’re about to find out how a swarm can pin you down real quick," the message read.

It ended with a Hindi film-style flourish: “Abhi toh sirf trailer hai, picture abhi baaki hai (This is just the trailer; the movie is yet to come)."

The online sparring comes as developments at sea point to a sharp rise in tensions around Iran’s waters and the strategic Strait of Hormuz.

Reports indicate that oil tankers have begun turning back, with traffic in parts of the region slowing dramatically amid fears of a wider confrontation. The US Navy has begun enforcing a naval blockade, according to official statements.

Washington has warned that any Iranian naval forces attempting to challenge the blockade would be “eliminated," a claim Tehran and its allies have dismissed as propaganda.

The standoff intensified after Trump said in a social media post that Iran’s navy had been “largely destroyed," alleging that 158 Iranian vessels had been sunk and that only a handful of fast-attack ships remained operational.

“Iran’s Navy is laying at the bottom of the sea, completely obliterated," Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that any ship approaching the blockade would be “immediately ELIMINATED."

According to US Central Command, the blockade targets Iranian ports and coastal areas with the stated aim of preventing vessels from entering or leaving Iran’s waters.

The move followed the expiry of a deadline set by Washington earlier this week and the collapse of high-stakes peace talks in Islamabad.
