Three Indians Arrested In Canada's Surrey After Shooting Incident In Residential Area

The Surrey Police has charged three Indian nationals after a shots were fired in Crescent Beach, Surrey. The police received a call informing them of a gunfire and a small fire.

Three Indian nationals were arrested in Canada following a late-night shooting incident in the coastal neighbourhood of Crescent Beach in Surrey on January 31.

According to a statement issued by the Surrey Police Service (SPS), the three have now been formally charged under the country’s Criminal Code.

Police said the arrests were made in the early hours of February 1, 2026, after officers received reports of gunfire and a small fire outside a home near Crescent Road and 132 Street in Crescent Beach.

The call came in at approximately 3.50 am (local time) while SPS members assigned to Project Assurance were patrolling the area in coordination with the force’s Major Crime Section.

According to the police release, officers began searching the surrounding streets and located three suspects a short time later near 28 Avenue and 140 Street.

The men were taken into custody after they entered a rideshare vehicle.

SPS’s Major Crime Section subsequently assumed control of the investigation.

Authorities have now laid identical charges against all three accused.

Harjot Singh, 21, Taranveer Singh, 19, and Dayajeet Singh Billing, 21, each face one count of discharging a firearm into a place, contrary to Section 244.2(1)(a) of Canada’s Criminal Code.

Police stressed that the probe remains active and that additional charges could be brought as investigators continue to review evidence and follow up on new leads.

All three have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to remain behind bars until at least February 5, 2026, pending their next court appearance.

The police statement also highlighted the Surrey Extortion Reward Fund, established in September 2025, which offers up to $250,000 to individuals whose information leads to charges and convictions in extortion-related crimes.
