The US Citizenship and Immigration Services has declared a “war on immigration fraud" while launching a nationwide hiring push that includes work-from-home options, no-degree entry roles and signing bonuses of up to $50,000.

In a post on X, USCIS said it would not allow immigration fraud to go unchecked, directing users to a recruitment page calling on applicants to join its mission to protect the US immigration system. The message comes as the Trump administration sharpens its focus on immigration enforcement and fraud detection.

According to information published on the USCIS website, the agency is recruiting for multiple roles under its Direct Hire Authority, a fast-track process that allows it to fill critical positions without following the traditional federal hiring timeline. Some roles offer remote or flexible duty locations, depending on the position.

The agency said it is seeking candidates to help identify immigration fraud, security threats and risks to public safety. Positions include Immigration Services Officers, Fraud Detection and National Security staff and support roles that assist with background checks, document processing and case analysis.

USCIS said entry-level roles do not require a college or law degree, while benefits include health insurance, retirement plans, paid leave and federal holidays. The agency also said it could make on-the-spot offers at upcoming job fairs as part of the accelerated hiring process.

The Trump administration has pushed a more aggressive immigration enforcement agenda since returning to office, expanding deportations, workplace raids and detention operations as part of what senior officials describe as a drive to reduce illegal immigration and protect public safety.

Federal authorities, including US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), have launched larger enforcement actions in cities such as Minneapolis and New York, drawing scrutiny after a fatal shooting by an ICE agent and resulting in protests and legal challenges.

At the same time, the administration has tightened legal immigration pathways, revoking tens of thousands of visas and imposing stricter screening measures, including enhanced social media checks for non-citizens. Deportations have surged in 2025, and policy shifts such as the ending of Temporary Protected Status for Venezuelans and expanded travel restrictions reflect a broader effort to reduce both illegal and legal immigration.
