President Trump and Melania were met with boos and cheers at the Kennedy Centre in DC during a Les Miserables performance, marking Trump's first public appearance at the show.

United States President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump were welcomed by boos as well as cheers on Wednesday night when they made their appearance at the Kennedy Centre in Washington, DC.

The couple was at the Kennedy Centre to watch a performance of the musical Les Miserables. This was Trump’s first public appearance on the show.

As soon as the couple entered the presidential box, some people present in the audience started clapping, but others booed loudly.

Multiple changes were made by the Trump administration to the Kennedy Centre. The leadership was replaced so that the centre’s programming was reshaped for more conservative values.

The show was attended by the president just days after US Marines and the National Guard were deployed in Los Angeles amid violent protests following his immigration raids.

“We’re going to make it incredible. We have all the funding. We raised a lot tonight, and we’ll put in a lot of money to bring it back to the highest level," said Trump at the event.

Reacting to the viral video of Trump getting booed, one person said on X, “It’s hard for maga brains to understand this but….. A lot of people hate Trump."

“Trump just got BOOED after arriving at the Kennedy Center for a performance of Les Misérables. There were some cheers, which is expected because he and his buddies have taken over the Kennedy Centre and installed their own," wrote another person.

“I guess Trump didn’t realise that any place where art and culture is highlighted wouldn’t have a Maga audience," commented a third user.
