Trump Brags About How 'Hot' And 'Big' This 1 Industry Is In Bizarre Speech To Police

President Donald Trump on Thursday championed his federal takeover of Washington, D.C., by thanking police officers, federal agents and National Guard troops in a sprawling speech — which quickly devolved into a rant about how “hot” and “big” artificial intelligence is.

While he began by praising law enforcement for the “fantastic job” they’ve done, Trump soon lauded Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates for investing in the U.S. tech sector — and said he’ll build “all sorts of plants all over the country.”

These “plants” included AI data centers, which Trump went on to passionately describe.

“We wouldn’t be able to compete with China AI,” he told the crowd of law enforcement. “And now we’re totally leading the AI race, and the artificial intelligence, it’s a big deal and it’s the hottest thing there is for probably, in 35, 40 years.

“A lot of people don’t know what it is,” Trump continued. “Just trust me, it’s very hot, it’s big.”

Social media users were quick to note that people in Trump’s own administration “don’t know what it is,” as Education Secretary Linda McMahon infamously mispronounced “AI” as “A1” — a well-known steak sauce — while speaking at a tech summit earlier this year.

“So hot that his education secretary, the wrestling lady, refers to it as A1,” wrote one user on X, formerly Twitter, with another person commenting: “‘A lot of people don’t know what it is.’ Like your Secretary for Education, Linda McMahon, who thought AI was…. A1.”

The International Energy Agency, an intergovernmental organization that provides nations around the world with data-driven analyses on the global energy sector, noted in a recent report that AI is one of “the most pressing and least understood” issues of our time.

It also stated that the U.S. is set to consume more electricity in 2030 for processing data “than for manufacturing all energy-intensive goods combined,” including aluminum, steel and cement, which certainly clashes with Trump’s stated plan to revive U.S. manufacturing.

“They need more electricity than we have right now in the whole country servicing everything,” he said Thursday about AI data centers. “In other words, we have to at least double it up to be competitive and to be leading. And we’re more than doubling it up.”

As evident by the reactions, social media users weren’t convinced by Trump’s remarks.
