US President Donald Trump on Wednesday signalled that Iran is keen to reach an agreement with Washington, even as tensions persist in the ongoing conflict.
Speaking amid renewed diplomatic efforts, Trump said, “Iran wants to strike a deal" and added that Tehran is looking to reach an agreement “at any cost."
He described the current situation as a limited conflict, saying the US is engaged in a “skirmish" with Iran but is doing “unbelievable work" on the ground.

Trump also pointed to US control over regional waters, claiming Iranian forces are unable to move ships in or out freely. “The Iranians are unable to bring in or take out any ships," he said, referring to ongoing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz.
Reiterating Washington’s red line, Trump said the US would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
“We will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons," he said.
The president also emphasised US military strength, suggesting that Washington has capabilities it has not fully displayed. “We sometimes prefer not to showcase our army’s capabilities, but it is there for a purpose," he added.
Trump’s remarks come as negotiations between the US and Iran appear to be gaining traction, with both sides reportedly moving closer to a potential framework agreement to end the conflict.
