'Trump Deeply Cares About US-India Relationship': US Envoy To India Sergio Gor

Gor, who is currently in the United States, took to X and shared his picture with President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the Oval Office.

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor met Donald Trump at the White House on Tuesday and said that the US President deeply cares about the US-India relationship.

Gor, who is currently in the United States, took to X and shared his picture with President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in the Oval Office.

“Back in the US for a few days. First stop, meeting with our GREAT President in the White House. The President deeply cares about the relationship between the US and India," Gor said in a post on X on Tuesday evening.

Gor assumed the office of the US Ambassador to India in January this year. Earlier, he served as the Director of the White House Presidential Personnel Office.

Gor also serves as the US Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

Earlier on Friday last week, the US Embassy in India shared remarks by Donald Trump praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia.

“Our amazing relationship with India will be even stronger going forward. Prime Minister Modi and I are two people that get things done — something that cannot be said for most," Trump said.

Trump had also called up PM Modi to discuss the ongoing situation in West Asia. Both leaders stressed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and supporting de-escalation in the region.
