He questioned whether the alliance would come to Washington’s aid if the US were under threat, while insisting that America would still stand by NATO allies.

Donald Trump also credited himself with stopping a complete Russian takeover of Ukraine, writing that “without my involvement, Russia would have ALL OF UKRAINE right now."

He did not provide specific details to support the claim.

The US President reiterated his long-standing criticism of NATO members over defence spending, saying most allies were contributing only 2% of GDP until he intervened. Donald Trump claimed he pressured them to raise spending to 5% of GDP, arguing that his personal involvement forced immediate compliance.

“The USA was, foolishly, paying for them," Donald Trump wrote, adding that critics had said his demands were impossible but that he succeeded because of his relationships with allied leaders.

Military Rebuilding And Alliance Skepticism

The US President said he rebuilt the US military during his first term and is continuing to do so, arguing that American strength under his leadership is what commands respect from global rivals.

“The only Nation that China and Russia fear and respect is the rebuilt U.S.A.," Donald Trump wrote, ending the post with his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again."
