US President Donald Trump claimed that Iran has “apologised and surrendered" to its Middle East neighbours following sustained attacks by the United States and Israel.
In a post on social media, Trump said Iran had promised it would no longer target neighbouring countries, attributing the move to what he described as relentless US and Israeli military pressure.
“Iran, which is being beaten to hell, has apologised and surrendered to its Middle East neighbours, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore," Trump wrote.
Trump further alleged that Iran’s actions were driven by the ongoing military campaign and said the country had lost influence in the region. He claimed Iran had previously sought to dominate the Middle East but was now no longer the “bully" of the region.
The president also warned that Iran could face even stronger attacks. He said some targets that were not previously considered could now be under “serious consideration" for strikes if Iran’s actions continued.
