US Army Puts Nuclear Safety Chief on Leave After Viral Video

A viral video showing US Chief of Chemical Nuclear Surety Andrew Hugg speaking to a stranger has triggered serious concern in the United States after he made major spills on America’s military operations and weapons. The senior army official was reportedly recorded on a hidden camera in a public restaurant.

The footage was shared by James O’Keefe, which shows Hugg revealing sensitive information linked to national security, military operations, and nuclear policy. The claims have raised questions about judgement, security protocols, and the handling of classified information.

What the video shows

In the video, Hugg spoke openly about several sensitive US military matters. He allegedly said the United States still possesses nerve agents and revealed that a US Army chemist had died after exposure to such a substance.

He also admitted that US airstrikes in Iran had resulted in the deaths of children at Minab school, describing it as “collateral damage". In addition, he discussed how nuclear launch decisions are made in real time, giving out information about high-level military processes.

Another striking claim was about Iran’s leadership. Hugg reportedly claimed that the United States could target Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei after killing his father Ali Khamenei if he “doesn’t change his ways".

Iran and US military actions

The conversation included remarks about the ongoing conflict with Iran. Hugg was quoted as saying that if a future Iranian leader did not change course, the United States could act against him. “If he [Mojtaba Khamenei] doesn’t change his ways, yeah, they’re [United States] going to kill him," he said.

At the same time, he clarified that the US had no intention of using nuclear weapons, saying, “We’re not going to nuke anybody." These statements added to the seriousness of the situation, as it combined both restraint and potential escalation.

His remarks about civilian casualties in Iran and the use of force have further drawn attention to the broader conduct of the conflict.

The setting of the conversation has also raised concerns. The exchange took place in a public restaurant, where Hugg was speaking casually with a woman he believed to be a private individual.

He apparently also made personal remarks during the interaction. He also spoke about how intelligence could be gathered, suggesting that sending a “pretty girl" could be an effective method.

“The easiest way to get intelligence…send a pretty girl, talk to the guy…I have to resist your eyes." “Your eyes have mesmerized me so much…Almost like you’re an intelligence."

Administrative action taken

Following the release of the video, the US Army reportedly took immediate steps. Hugg has been placed on administrative leave while the matter is investigated.

Reports also indicate that he was escorted out of the Pentagon after the video surfaced. The move suggests that authorities are treating the issue with seriousness, given the nature of the claims and the potential risks involved.

Officials have not yet provided a detailed public response, but both the Pentagon and the US Army are said to be reviewing the situation.

The incident has raised questions about how sensitive information is handled.

The fact that such remarks were allegedly made in a public place to a stranger has intensified scrutiny. It also highlights the risks posed by informal settings, where officials may speak more freely than they should.

Who Is Andrew Hugg?

Hugg is described as a senior figure responsible for nuclear and chemical safety. His role reportedly involves oversight of sensitive operations and systems.

A LinkedIn profile believed to belong to him mentions his experience in nuclear operations and work with the US Department of the Army. However, the profile has since been taken down.

Details from the profile indicated a background with diverse skills and a focus on high-level technical areas.

The case is now under investigation, and further clarity is expected from official sources. The Pentagon and the US Army have been approached for comment and are said to be preparing a response.
