The United States and Iran have reportedly worked out a preliminary arrangement to extend their ongoing ceasefire, though the proposal is still awaiting approval from US President Donald Trump, Axios reported.
The development came after Iran launched strikes targeting a US air base in Kuwait on Thursday, days after Washington carried out attacks linked to what it described as an Iranian drone operation.
According to the report, both countries have agreed to a 60-day memorandum of understanding aimed at maintaining the truce while opening talks over Tehran’s nuclear programme. However, the proposed framework has not yet received Trump’s final clearance.
