US-Iran-Israel War LIVE: The US military said on Wednesday that it stopped 10 ships from leaving Iranian ports in the first two days of its naval blockade.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on X that no ships have managed to get past the blockade since it began on Monday. Earlier, it had reported stopping nine ships, but later added a tenth that was turned back by a US warship.

On the other hand, the military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Wednesday warned that Tehran could attack US ships in the Strait of Hormuz if Washington continues to “police” the key shipping bottleneck.

Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander-in-chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards who was named as a military adviser to Khamenei, said on state television that any attempt by the United States to “police” the vital shipping route would provoke a strong response.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani delegation led by Army chief Asim Munir held talks with officials in Iran on the possibility of a new round of negotiations between Tehran and Washington. Additionally, White House spokesperson expressed optimism for continued negotiations between the US and Iran, saying future talks were likely to be held again in Islamabad.

The US military said Wednesday it successfully turned back 10 vessels that tried to sail out of Iranian ports during the first 48 hours of a naval blockade against the Islamic republic.

“Ten vessels have now been turned around and ZERO ships have broken through since the start of the US blockade on Monday,” US Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a post on X.

CENTCOM had earlier put the number of ships turned back at nine, but added a 10th that it said was “redirected” back to Iran by a US guided missile destroyer.
