The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has indicated that Iran’s ability to threaten American forces and regional partners is diminishing, even as tensions in the West Asia continue to escalate.

According to CENTCOM, Iran’s operational reach and influence are declining due to sustained U.S. military presence, advanced surveillance, and strategic countermeasures.

“The Iranian regime’s ability to impact U.S. forces and regional partners is rapidly declining, while American combat power continues to build," CENTCOM posted on X.

The U.S. military strikes against the Iranian navy have intensified amid the ongoing hostilities with Tehran.

The US military also struck and set on fire an Iranian drone carrier ship on Thursday as the forces continue to target the Iranian Navy amid Operation ‘Epic Fury’. The carrier ship, they said, was “roughly the size of a WWII aircraft carrier".

In a post on ‘X’, the US Central Command wrote, “U.S. forces aren’t holding back on the mission to sink the entire Iranian Navy. Today, an Iranian drone carrier, roughly the size of a WWII aircraft carrier, was struck and is now on fire."

The development comes amid soaring geopolitical tensions, as the United States and Israel have stepped up military strikes on targets inside Iran. In response, Iran has continued to retaliate by targeting U.S. interests and allied positions across the region.

West Asia War Enters Day 7

The Iran‑Israel‑America war entered its seventh day on Friday, marked by mounting casualties and widespread destruction across Iran, following a massive coordinated military offensive launched by the United States and Israel on February 28, 2026.

Information compiled by CNN-News18 suggests that at least 16 major Iranian cities and towns have been affected by the US-Israeli strikes. These include Tehran, Parand, Karaj, Minab, Bandar Abbas, Ahvaz, Isfahan, Qom, Shiraz, Kermanshah, Khorramabad, Tabriz, and Mashhad.

The strikes have reportedly hit a mix of military sites, strategic infrastructure, and government-linked facilities, while causing damage to residential areas in several cities.
