PeerhaTwo legends were seen bonding in front of the crowds at the Wankhdede Stadium as the local boy Sachin Tendulkar met Argentina's Lionel Messi on Sunday. Messi was on his third stop of the GOAT India tour in Mumbai where he was joined by not only Tendulkar but Indian football legend Sunil Chhetri along with other celebrities from the entertainment world.

Perhaps for the first time, the chants of “Tendulkar, Tendulkar” weren't dominating the stadium as the crowd went on to cheer for the famous Argentine footballer.

However, the chants of “Sachin Sachin” once again reverberated the ground when the legendary cricketer came in to adress the crowd.

Sachin Tendulkar on Messi:

Speaking the venue, Tendulkar said,"I have spent some incredible moments here. A number of dreams have seen the finish line on this very venue. And without your support, we would never have seen those golden moments on this ground in 2011 (cricket World Cup),"

But the decibel levels of the iconic “Sachin… Sachin” were back to the highest when the batting legend was called upon to share the stage with Messi later in the evening.

"When it comes to Leo, what does one talk about him? He has achieved everything. We really admire his dedication, determination, commitment." he added

Tendulkar also gifted Messi with his 2011 World Cup jersey and went on to call it a ‘golden moment’ for Mumbai and India. Notably, Wankhede is the same stadium where the Men in Blue ended their 28 year drought and won the World Cup after 28 years.
