Iran’s ‘Assassination Bill’ refers to a draft legislation introduced in the Iranian Parliament that proposes a €50 million (approximately $58 million) bounty for the killing of US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Formally titled ‘Counter-Action by the Military and Security Forces of the Islamic Republic’, the bill mandates that the Iranian government pay this massive financial reward to any individual or entity that successfully assassinates either leader.
Key Pillars of the Proposed Bill
The legislation explicitly names US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of the US Central Command (CENTCOM).
The bill allocates a massive fund of €50 million to formalize payment for whoever “sends Trump and Netanyahu to hell," classifying the act as a “religious and ideological mission".
The bill was drafted by Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, led by Ebrahim Azizi. It is currently undergoing parliamentary review and awaits an official vote.
Why Now?
The introduction of the bill follows a massive escalation in regional geopolitical tensions:
- Retaliation for the Killing of Supreme Leader Khamenei: Iranian lawmakers explicitly framed this bill as direct retaliation for the joint US-Israeli military strikes on Tehran (codenamed “Operation Epic Fury" by the US), which killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
- Lingering Soleimani Retaliation: Hardline factions in Tehran also tie these countermeasures to ongoing revenge for the 2020 assassination of IRGC Commander Qassem Soleimani, which was ordered during Trump’s first presidential term.
Diplomatic and Security Context
This explosive rhetoric comes at a highly delicate time, as Pakistan brokers backchannel peace talks between Tehran and Washington to preserve a fragile ceasefire amidst the ongoing regional conflict.
Beyond the official parliamentary bill, a pro-regime media outlet called Masaf and an Iran-linked cyber group named Handala have both claimed to have independently raised tens of millions of dollars to fund separate “Kill Trump" campaigns.
The US Department of Justice has unsealed several criminal charges regarding Iranian-backed plots to target American officials. Donald Trump previously warned Tehran that any attempt on his life would result in the US issuing strict orders to “wipe them off the face of the Earth".
