President Donald Trump’s MRI from October, during his second “yearly” check-up in just six months, shows he is in “excellent health,” the White House claimed Monday.
The White House Office of Communications released a memorandum from the president’s physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella, attesting to the results of the advanced imaging.
Barbabella portrayed the MRI as standard imaging for people of a certain age.
“Advanced imaging was performed because men in [Trump’s] age group benefit from a thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health,” Barbabella said. “The purpose of this imaging is preventative: to identify issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure he maintains long-term vitality and function.”
According to the White House, the results showed Trump’s cardiovascular and abdominal imaging is “perfectly normal.”
Trump previously insisted his MRI was “absolutely perfect,” while also admitting he had “no idea” what it was for or what part of his body was being imaged.

The assertion Monday that Trump’s cardiovascular system is in “excellent” shape would seem to be at odds with Trump’s diagnosis less than six months ago of “chronic venous insufficiency.”
The disease can cause blood to pool in the extremities, likely explaining Trump’s swollen ankles and persistently bruised hand.
At 79, Trump is the oldest person ever elected to the White House, and his age is reportedly catching up to him.
Last week, The New York Times noted a 39% decrease in Trump’s public appearances, in addition to shorter daily schedules compared to this point in his first term. Trump’s also been spotted dozing off in meetings.
Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) called for the release of the MRI results over the weekend, saying it’s apparent Trump is “fading physically” after he used a disability slur to refer to the governor last week.
“Here we got a guy on Thanksgiving where we spent time with our families, we ate, we played Yahtzee, we cheered for football or whatever,” Walz said on “Meet The Press.” “This guy is apparently in a room ranting about everything else. This is not normal behavior. It’s not healthy.”
